Budget of Choices Flyer Now Available!

Our Budget of Choices Table is now available for downloading! This is the modified, flyer version of Sharon Ward’s slide on just what services can be saved by closing tax loopholes and requiring that corporations pay their fair share. Many coalition members have been requesting this and with good reason: it encapsulates much of what we’re fighting for.

Make sure your voice is heard! Join coalition members, legislators and voters for a public forum about the proposed state budget and options for raising revenues in Pennsylvania. After the forum join us in canvassing voters in nearby neighborhoods for a Fair Share budget that closes tax loopholes and taxes Marcellus Shale gas drilling.

The forum and canvass for Bucks County has been scheduled for Saturday, April 9.

Speak out against the legislature’s choice to leave $100 million on the table

Join us on Tuesday, October 26th at 10am at Philadelphia City Hall (Dillworth Plaza, 15th Street side).

The legislature broke their promise to enact a tax on natural gas extraction at Marcellus Shale this fall, leaving $100,000,000 on the table…and counting.*

We all know the families living without the resources they need as we give away our Commonwealth’s nonrenewable resources for free. Not to mention the damage done to our struggling economy by the cuts that will result from the lost revenue.

Remind legislators we elect them to represent Pennsylvania, not the oil lobby.

Join us in Norristown to call for a strong Marcellus Shale tax to prevent more cuts to essential services

On Thursday, September 30th at 12 noon, members of the Southeastern PA Budget Coalition will hold a press conference to call on legislators to pass a strong Marcellus Shale bill by the October 1 deadline, to prevent $70 million more in cuts to essential services this budget year.

The event will be held at the Montgomery County Courthouse (2 East Airy Street at Swede Street in Norristown). All are welcome–bring others who would be impacted by potential cuts.

This event is co-sponsored by the CLEAR Coalition and the Better Choices Coalition.
